For a long time, the law enforcers have been grappling with the problem of juvenile delinquency in society. Various studies have tried to come up with suggestions as to why youth engage in crime.  Parents have been blamed for their laxity in enforcing discipline, and the media has got its fair share of the blame, and also idleness has been singled out as a significant cause.   However, lack of proper education, especially multicultural education, is probably the biggest culprit in propagating this vice.  Multicultural education aims to bring reforms to educational institutions so that students from diverse cultures and races can have equality in education. The education system has failed to rise to the occasion of keeping up with the rapidly changing technology, and thus the youth end up feeling hopeless and turn to crime. This research proposal paper focuses on the lack of proper multicultural education as the root cause of the youth and crime.

The articles have introduced other ways that education can be used to reach the youth through the positive behavior support which enhances the way youth relate with each other in the society.

One of the hypotheses is that the lack of multicultural education is the leading cause of crime amongst the youth.  This is because many teenagers fail to find an identity, especially where they feel isolated and left out.  Secondly, most of the inmates in the prisons today are school dropouts. In the literature review above, there is a lot of information on how to help the youth by giving them the right avenues to find their identities.

The standard for the protection of human standards which might pose the greatest difficulty is getting the right people to use while conducting the research.  It is because respondents might feel that their privacy is threatened.  The respondents need to be assured that the information would not be used to incriminate them or land them in trouble unnecessarily.
