Worldmindedness

For this worldmindedness, I scored 104 points out of 192 points. Worldmindedness refers to the ability to be flexible, adaptable and open to other cultures such that such people perform better on international assignments. Therefore, worldmindedness is a desirable characteristic for people in all fields ranging from business, education, and arts. Different groups of people have different levels of world mindedness depending on their majors, languages they speak and whether they have experienced different cultures. However, this does not mean that a person cannot change their levels of worldmindedness. One can improve by learning a new language or culture so as to improve their likelihood of having good results when working internationally.

According to the test results, I would rate my score as average. This means that there is still a lot of things I need to improve so as to have high levels of worldmindedness. According to research, the group with the highest levels of worldmindedness are those who are taking social work as their major with 121 points. Which means I am not far away from the high scores. However, this score of people in Social Work will not limit efforts to improve on worldmindedness.

One of the ways that I will use to improve my levels of worldmindedness is by listening and reading about global news and not only what is happening in the United States. As a result, I will be very knowledgeable about various things happening around the world. I will also make myself familiar with local cultural experiences by trying out dishes from different cultures being offered in restaurants in the United States as well as interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Finally, in the future I will visit different countries in the world and learn a new language.
