Knee extension machine

This is a machine that mainly targets the front thighs muscles; this exercise works out quadriceps muscles.

Other Exercises that utilize these muscles are;

  1. Dumbbell and Barbell Lunge
  2. Leg Press.

Hack squat machine

This is the variation of squat and an exercise used to build the leg muscles. Specifically, hack squats targets calves, glutes, hamstrings and the quads (Isom, 2010).

Other exercises that utilize these muscles are;

  1. Stiff leg deadlifts.
  2. Single leg lunges.

Leg press machine

This is an excellent exercise machine that is used in the development of quadriceps of the thighs and also the development of the gluteal muscles.

Other exercises that utilize these muscles are;

  1. Weighted deadlift.
  2. Weighted hip

 

Free squats no weight.

In this case, there is no weight used, only free squats. Free squats without weight are commonly used to develop quadriceps.

Other exercises that could be used in these muscles are;

  1. Single leg lunges
  2. Dumbbell and Barbell Lunge

Free squats with weight.

This type of exercise works several muscles in the human body; these include, the low back muscles, erector spinae, glutes, hamstring, and quadriceps.

Other exercises that utilize these muscles are;

  1. Feet flat on the floor.
  2. Maintaining a neutral spine.

Smith press squat machine.

This is a gym workout that mainly targets the quadriceps, hip flexors, and glutes. This work out also involves hamstrings.

Other exercises that utilize these muscles are;

  1. Situp straight with engaged abs.
  2. Pushthe bottoms of each foot together while pushing the knees out.

 

Walking lunges in a hall

This is an exercise that works out several muscles at the same time. The muscles targeted include; the glutes in the butt and the hips along with the hamstring and quadriceps in the thighs.

Other exercises that utilize these muscles are;

  1. Marching hip lift.
  2. Side skaters.

Hamstring exercises machine.

This type of machine focuses on working out the hamstring’s muscles in between the hips and the knees.

Other exercises that utilize these muscles are;

  1. Kettlebell One-Legged Deadlift.
  2. Floor Glute-Ham Raise.

Seated curl machine

When using this type of machine, the muscles on the back of the thigh contracts to bend the knee. The muscles targeted in this work out include; the semitendinosus, the semimembranosus and biceps femoris (Jakobsen, 2014).

Other exercises that utilize these muscles include;

  1. Inverted underhand bodyweight rows.
  2. Straight-bar seated underhand cable rows.

Standing curl machine.

This type of workout targets the brachialis muscle which is a section of the lower biceps.

Other exercises that utilize this muscle include;

  1. Hammer curls with a rope on a low pulley.
  2. Reverse-grip barbell or EZ bar curls.

Squat machine.

This is a type of workout that strengthens the hamstring, quads and the glutes.

Other exercises that utilize these muscles are;

  1. Tempo leg press.
  2. single-arm alternating forward lunge.

Calf exercise machine.

This is a type of machine that primarily works out triceps surae or the calf muscles.

Other exercises that utilize this muscle are;

  1. Dumbbell jump squat.
  2. Downward dog.

Seated calf machine.

This is an exercising machine that targets the soleus, tibialis posterior and gastrocnemius muscles in the lower leg (Webber, 2012).

Other exercises that utilize these muscles are;

  1. Jump rope.
  2. Standing barbell calf raise.

Standing calf machine.

This type of machine helps in working out soleus and gastrocnemius muscles.

Other exercises that utilize these muscles are;

  1. Advanced Stair Stretch.
  2. Seated Calf Extension.
