The culture that I will cover in this paper is that of Indonesian people. I am interested in understanding this culture because of its diverse nature and religion influence. The following are the questions that I would ask an Indonesian. First, what do I need to understand regarding verbal and non-verbal communications? In Indonesia, when you attend a business meeting, you might back away to retrieve your social space, while an Indonesian will move closer to keep the social space. Besides, ones should avoid eye contact and other gestures such as giving or receiving something using the left hand. Second, is it acceptable to display in public your anger, affections or emotions? Many Asians and Muslims do not allow people to show affection in public (Miller, 2010). People should dress modestly. Indonesians respect social relations; however, individuals should have ways of showing displeasure without shouting.

Third, what information should one know about the workplace environment? People in tropical countries like Indonesia tend to wear clothing made of cotton. Regarding deadline, should one is expected to be punctual unless you encountered some problems. The working hours is from Monday to Friday, but the public servants work only for half a day on Fridays to allow Muslims to attend the mosque. Fourth, what activities can you suggest when I want to learn more about your culture? The Indonesian newspaper contains vital information on the current affairs. It is important for one to visit cafes and restaurant around the community to understand the culture (Miller, 2010). Fifth, what is the attitude of the local culture regarding gender, religion, and ethnicity? In Indonesia, it is unlawful not to have religion. Besides, the husband takes care of the family because he is the breadwinner. The country consists of people from different backgrounds.
