Subject: Proposed Project

The proposed projects have significant value to the organization. However, we need to settle on the projects that are not only cost effective but also the ones that minimize errors possible errors while handling the information.

I would like to advocate for Custom Application as it will include even the basic functionality of the business hence cost-effective. It also establishes a central database with remote access. However, I find it to have additional charges for the migration of data. Also, there is a possibility of misunderstanding which eventually leads to extended programming time hence high costs. The other project that I would advocate for is the Platform as a Service because, first it is a cloud-based infrastructure thus it will store the information until the authorized persons need to use it, and then they can securely retrieve it. There is no longer a contract period hence inexpensive. However, there are additional charges for ownership and the maintenance of the development platform.

MS Access will also be worth advocating for as it operates fast and it is installed on various computers. However, the local installations do not provide remote access hence require an individual to be at their work station even on a task that they would have accomplished in any place. Google Docs allows the employees to create several documents and presentations hence share with other authorized staff, therefore, facilitate operations. However, there is a possibility that the security of our information can get compromised since we do not own the tools and the relevant resources to store the information yet Google might cancel the services.

The other project that I would advocate for is Enterprise Resource Planning as it provides remote access and integrates all the business processes. However, it is expensive and has unclear costs that we might end up spending more than we had anticipated.

I have highlighted the reasons for advocating for the projects and the reasons against, and I believe that upgrading from MS-Work to PaaS will be effective for our company. It will solve the problems experienced by the current IT system. It is way better than the other projects.
