Prochazkova et al. offers a good insight into the use of micro-doses of psychedelic medication or substance. He argues that over the recent few years there has been an increase in the application such as hallucinogenic substances that include truffles. The reason for the increased use of these substances is because of their impact on targeting receptors and promoting cognitive flexibility that is quite important for thinking. However, the biggest challenge is the lack of quantitative research that can show the effect of micro-dosing and thus making it impossible to draw a definitive conclusion. There is a need to develop a better understanding of how substances that have cognitive enhancing properties. The author seeks to focus on micro-dosing psychedelics, and the focus is that the study would provide a better understanding of using these substances. However, the primary focus is on quantitatively exploring the cognitive enhancing potential of microboring psychedelics in healthy adults.
I do agree with their conclusion that these if psychedelic substance might be used in micro-doses, then they can effectively help in dealing with the bad trips while at the same time helping to maintain a positive impact on the one’s cognition and emotions. The author uses a quantitative approach in the study where truffles are used to deal with problems solving related problems the picture concept task assessing and convergent thinking. Previous studies have shown that people at older ages often experience this problem as their thinking or creativity in problems solving reduces. Therefore the study eventually finds that the different thinking performance experienced an improvement after with the use of micro-dose. Consequently, the study would prove that psychedelics truffles might have a positive impact on thinking abilities. There is has been several other studies have often shown different views about the use of this substance. In the survey of Silicon Valley, it was shown that a tiny amount of hallucinogenic drugs increases creativity and productivity (Boselay). However, in the same studies, it was also argued that some of these things are just in mind. Therefore in looking at the use of this Micro-dose might also depend on the mindset of the people using it.
However, I would disagree with the fact that they use psychedelic mushrooms to judge all psychedelic drugs; they are different and have different effects. While one drug might provide a positive impact on an individual, another one might have a different result. Besides the composition of these substances often vary. It is important to note that these drugs are hallucinogens. Studies have shown the impact of hallucinogens on one mind how addictive they can be. Therefore, it is essential to have a clear understanding that some of the drugs might have other impacts. It would thus be wrong to make a general conclusion that since the psychedelic mushrooms have a positive effect than any of the drugs might be positive. There is a need for further studies.
In conclusion, there is clear evidence that psychedelic mushrooms have a positive impact on the different thinking capacity of an individual. The authors have made a point, and the research points to the conclusion they make. However, there would need to carry out other studies that might determine the impact of the individual drugs on an individual taking to account that different drugs affect people. Differently, it would be wrong to make a blanket view of the issue.
