Importance of workplace diversity to a company’s culture and performance with relevant examples.

Workplace diversity is when companies hire employees from all sorts of different background regardless of their race, culture and or religion. Having a diverse group of people working in a company brings with a lot of benefits. As discussed below, there are various ways through which workplace diversity and is of importance to the company’s culture and performance.

Cultural diversity leads to an increase in the profit of the company.  A market survey done by Think Tank, Centre for Talent and Innovation shows that 48% of companies in the US with much more diversity at senior management increased their market share value in the previous year compared to 33% of companies with less workplace diversity.

Workplace diversity also contributes to an increase in creativity. According to a Forbes magazine article bringing diversified workforce together with multiple perspectives and world, views leads to popping out of new ideas in decision-making processes.

Also,workplace diversity leads to an increase in a company’s reputation rating. The companies with a diverse workforce are seen as a good employer by the public.

A Situation of motivation by a supervisor to perform better in a project within an organization and its impacts.

Motivation is a process that enables a person to change views over someone or something through dedicated action or inspiring words. In my experience, I was motivated ones by a supervisor of a project we were working on as a group in an organisation. I was never fully invested in the project as I was a new and less experienced employee. The supervisor noticed these and made it an effort to talk to me every morning complimenting me on small achievement and progress that I was making. also he discovered the various skill deficiencies  I had.

As a result, my attitude increased overtime and I started voicing my opinions and giving new ideas which would previously withhold back. I even felt more useful and relevant to work in the organization.  The project supervisor has focused his full attention on me as an individual. He also helped me to develop my skills further and be able to lead myself
