Nada Shabout also touches on how art has transformed from the ancient period to the modern world. Therefore, one might have an interest in this form of art. The modern or contemporary art refers to the craft of the Middle East which began from 1950 onwards. It is common among modern artists today. This art has many themes which comprise of literature, painting, war, conflicts, and politics. The artistic movements were created through revolution. It is because most individuals felt that they never enjoyed their freedom of expression. Therefore, art was used as a tool to fight for political and social struggle. In this case, people wanted to use it to liberate themselves from any form of exploitation. As a result, revolutions were vital to rescue people from bondage. Finally, these revolutions were influenced by the desire of attaining independence and being self-reliant.
Both the modern Arab art and the one created through revolution generalizations have a point of intersection and divergence. One aspect of connection is that all of them relates to current day form of art. Secondly, both of them originate from the Islamic religion. Therefore, Arabic is the foundation of these pieces of art. This is one of the things that make them distinct from other forms of art that originate from different parts of the globe. One point of divergence is that the former borrows some of its aspects from the western culture.
On the other hand, the latter is purely based on Islamic culture. Besides, modern Arab art only expresses issues that are associated with Arabic literature. Moreover, the art created through revolution generalizations focuses on matters related to political and social struggle. As a result, most of the images drawn on these arts show exploitation and issues touching on war.
