Supporting the wider curriculum

Education

The more extensive curriculum allows teachers to give the learner several alternative activities. These undertakings focus on other events besides academic exercises. They usually take place outside the classroom. The primary goal is to ensure that learners develop their talents while in college. This will help them to realise their full potential apart from the usual classwork taught in school (Butcher, 2014).

Additionally, it is ideal where the learners want to gain from the external experience. Moreover, this approach is perfect where both girls and boys are mixed to be taught about life skills in a broad context. The technique is also essential where there is a need to educate the learners on how to respond to frequent disappointments and success in life. The step can assist them in becoming responsible people who can be relied upon by society. Finally, teachers can use this method where children need to break classroom activities and focus on recreation. It is essential to give the learners some time for leisure after spending most of it in class.

I have a role in ensuring that I plan for all the future activities in advance. It includes those teachings that will take place out of class. In this case, I will develop a lesson plan including the one that will be used to carry out outdoor activities. The program should indicate how each event will be conducted and the specific time allocated for each operation. It can assist in decreasing time wastage during games time (Curren, 2010). However, the teaching plans should be designed according to the needs of the various categories and ages of children. It should also contain objectives that are clearly stated by the teacher. The content that should be covered must be allocated enough time. The strategy should also show the appropriate teaching method that will be used during the entire period. Finally, the plan should indicate the assessment criteria that one will apply at the end of the lesson. It will assist in showing whether the learning objectives have been attained.

As a teacher, I play an essential role in the learning process. First, I am a mediator, and I use my skills to ensure that students understand what they have been taught. Some of these skills comprise of excellent communication and mentorship abilities. Secondly, I guarantee that all educational materials are availed to students on time to assist them during the learning process. I will also work as a lead administrator to ensure that all the activities of the institution go on smoothly. I will use the simplest teaching methods that will enable the students to comprehend what they have been taught. Finally, I will use simple valuation techniques to examine the kids. This might allow them to know how they are progressing during the whole process.

The teaching methods allow students to study from their own experiences instead of relying on the traditional textbook approach. It might enable the students to understand the content well since they will be learning from their knowledge. It also increases the apprentice’s skills before proceeding to the next level. It also enhances the teacher and trainee’s interaction which helps the learner to comprehend what is being taught. The teaching and learning cycle involves several issues such as examining information and learner’s work, and the second step is to adapt to teaching before reviewing your work. Afterward, the instructor is expected to plan, teach and then assess his or her work again. It, therefore, means a teacher will do some things repeatedly when teaching students.
