The social status is the position an individual holds within a social setup; they define your place in the society. My social statuses include Male, Brother, Middle-Class, Son, Cousin, Uncle, Young adult, College Student, Handyman, Boyfriend, White American, Christian, and Friend.  Ascribed status is the position that one holds in the society that is neither chosen nor earned but assigned. My Ascribed statuses are: I am a male, a son, brother, white American, middle class, cousin, young adult, and uncle.  Achieved status is that position chosen or earned in the society. I have achieved the following statuses: I am a full-time college student; I am a Christian, a handyman, a friend and a boyfriend, a serious entrepreneur. A year ago I had not become a serious entrepreneur who fully understands his business and the market competition. A year ago I was also not a full-time college student but a school-based student. I was not also a boyfriend to somebody. Finally, I was not an uncle to someone a year ago.

The prestigious status is a position of regard that one has. The most prestigious statuses in my list are that I am now a college student learning in a prestigious learning institution and pursuing a prestigious course. Being a Christian is also is also my prestigious status because I praise a mighty and regardful Lord who have provided abundant prestigious things and yet to bring to revelation more success. Being at the cohort of a young adult is also a prestigious status to me because I have all the freedom to make personal decisions and not being confined. This status makes me be a free thinker and perceiving myself as being one of the best sociologists in the world in the future. My entrepreneurship status is also prestigious to me because I find it interesting to device intelligent ways to outdo my competitors in the surrounding market as they acknowledge my well-calculated moves. It is also very prestigious to be called an uncle, a name I have been aspiring to be called. The least prestigious status is being in the middle class because people in the middle class we don’t live as we would wish but survive.

My status of being a handyman at times becomes an inconvenience. I have skills in fixing computers and damaged motorbikes. These skills create conflicts with my school work and social life of having a family a family to attend to. With the qualifications, therefore, many people with computer problems and motorbike issues needs me at their rescue; therefore, I find it very difficult. But I only do all I can, but others end up feeling frustrated when I decide to attend to my family and not to their problems of which I should. Being a full-time student and at the same time, an entrepreneur is an inconsistency, because my clients at times call me to deliver them goods and maybe coincidentally having a class scheduled for that time.  Therefore, I had to sacrifice one at calculated modes, either to stay in class and get the first knowledge from my professor or deliver the goods to maintain my customers.

My siblings and girlfriend at times compete for my attention to all of them with everyone in need of the maximum. The conflicting attention to the three groups is part of the inconveniences that I face. Taking Christian life at college at times is a big inconvenience because at campus some of my belief systems go against my friends thought lines. Master status is the position that significantly affects and influences other aspects of an individual’s life. My master status, which surpasses any other, is my Christian life. It gives revelation to all other statuses. If it were not my Christian nature of knowing my creator and spending the better time of my free time praising him, then I wouldn’t have realized all the remaining status.
