Self-evaluation

This process of self-evaluation greatly depends on cognitive development. Exposure to violence through media has adverse effects on cognitive development. Individuals learn new self-evaluation skills depending on the exposure. If the video games children entertain themselves with have violence as a theme, the brain adapts in that mindset. This is because, during the first stage of growth, the mind is almost fresh and is picking data from all around. The knowledge they get adds to the cognitive development stage which influences the self-evaluation skills they adapt. When a child understands from a young age that he/she is always in dangers, their mindset will change to being defensive. If what the child watches or plays entertains a lot of violence or is in itself an explicit violence shows, the child will adapt to getting entertained in that way. They will grow to try and practice what they have learned. It is a dangerous trend as it is happening during the child’s cognitive growth process. Violence might be the only thing the child will register. At that young age, it will be a form of entertainment, but as the brain continues to develop and record stuff in a more permanent way the child grows a habit. A habit often turns into a disease, and disease most often needs a cure lest it will kill. Children need not be made sick gradually from a young age through the things they are exposed to.
