Week 8: Question 1 Group 2

In my work experience, I have had different values, attitudes and moods in the course of my work. Values are personal convictions about what one needs to behave and strive for in life. They are long-lasting. Examples include ethical values and work values. Attitudes are a collection of beliefs, feelings and thoughts about how to behave. They are short term given that they are dependent on the current job. Examples include organizational commitment and job satisfaction.  Work Moods on the other hand is a description of how one feels in the course of doing the job. They are specific and change regularly. Examples include nervousness and anxiousness.

Week 8: Question 2 Group 2

When I used to work in the local beverage industry, the level of satisfaction in the job was not very high. First, there were several instances of managers and supervisors behaving unethically. A good example is that promotions were based not on performance but corruption. Corruption was a normal things to an extent that one could bribe a supervisor to be allowed to be absent. This lowered my ethical values. In addition, my attitudes towards the job would change regularly. Sometimes I feel enthusiasm while at times I was very unsatisfied with the job.

Week 8: Question 4 Group 2

One of the things that my current managers do is to lead by example. When new rules are introduced, the managers are the first to follow them. In addition, communication has been streamlined such that replies to any communication are instant. A major idea that revolutionized the company was that employees are involved in the decision making process. Any decision that affects the employees is made by the managers and the employees together. This has maintained a high satisfaction among the employees.
