The preventable differences in solving health problems within a community are known as health disparities. The main factors that lead to this scenario include social determinants, poor communication, biased health providers, and cultural differences (National Center for Health Statistics, 2016). The government, through its legislative bodies, have been able to come up with some policies with the hope that they can solve this problem.

The organization that will be discussed in this presentation is the American Medical Association (AMA). The objective of this association is to promote medical science and improve public healthcare. The five central policies implemented by AMA include the use of electronic health records in areas with inadequate health services. The second one is the introduction of cultural competence in medical education to ensure that all graduates understand how to deal with various cultures.

Another policy that is advocated for by AMA is the use of health insurance covers to make it affordable for all patients (American Medical Association, 2018). AMA also supports equity in healthcare; this aspect ensures that health services are accessible to everyone regardless of their financial or social factors.
