Poor Communication and Organizational Problems

Poor Communication and Organizational Problems

Some people argue that poor communication is to blame for too many organizational problems. However, the truth is that poor communication contributes to a lot of challenges from almost all sectors of the organization (Kanki, 2019). For instance, poor communication adds to the disrupted flow of information from the management to the employees and amongst the employees in an organization. It is true that other factors such as the structure of the organization also contribute to inefficiency, but it is important to realize that communication plays a significant role when compared to other factors that affect the operations of the organization. This paper, therefore, discusses the reasons why communication is largely responsible for the overall challenges affecting most organizations around the world.

Poor communication leads to suppressed innovation

It is important to know that the success of any organization depends on the collaboration of people who put their ideas together (Kanki, 2019). The process of ideation requires more than one person typically to share their thoughts through effective communication. It is possible to have one genius person who can do everything by themselves without depending on other people’s ideas, but most innovations require the input of more than one person to put their thoughts together and imagine. However, when there is poor communication, it becomes difficult for the employees to share their ideas or even track the progress being undertaken.

Lower morale among employee

Poor communication contributes to lower morale of employee in an organization. Remember it is always very frustrating to the employees. For instance, ineffective communication brings about many misunderstanding, limited accountability as well as less empowerment (Kanki, 2019). These elements further lead to a delay of projects that consequently spillover to the customers. Effective communication is the root of constructive relationships in an organization. Therefore, poor communication results to lower morale that cause reduce efficiency and productivity of the organization. Therefore, based on this evidence above, it is true that poor communication is to blame for most of the organization’s problems around the world.
