- A. I was born in a family where everyone was expected to behave well. As a result, I have grown bearing in mind that I should not steal, cheat or lie. I try as much as possible to distinguish between wrong and right in every action that I intend to take. I think these are the best ways to live since you should always do to others what you would want them to do to you. No one wishes to be lied on, cheated or having their belongings stolen.
- Among the things that I have learnt from the course materials is that an individual’s character determines a lot about that person’s ethical aspects. A moral person ought to know the limits that they should maintain while aiming to attain self gratification in order to remain within the acceptable ethical behavior.
- There are several values that I live with as I undertake my day to day activities. Among them are accountability, respectfulness, commitment, honesty, assertiveness and professionalism. Combining these values has made it possible for me to balance both my personal and professional life.
- When it comes to accountability, I am always ready to accept when I am at fault. I usually take responsibility and avoid blaming others or circumstances for my shortcomings. I am usually respectful to people that I meet regardless of their background, gender or age. This goes all way to being honest. I will always give you an honest opinion regardless of how ugly it might look. My being assertive is evidenced by the way I showcase confidence and maintain a forceful personality when need be.
- My primary belief in life is that you will meet people of different nature. People that think, reason and have different beliefs from yours. The right way such people can interact at a workplace is by upholding professionalism and honesty. Professionalism will ensure that people respect what colleagues believe in regardless of the differences. Honesty on the other hand helps people to open up on various acts that they don’t find attractive from their colleagues.
- I usually participate in charity activities from time to time. Most of the charity activities I am involved in target children and the elderly in the society. In future, I hope to be involved with causes that spearhead corporate social responsibility since it is something that most businesses are really neglecting.
- My pet peeve is a disorganized room or any surrounding that is being used by people for whatever activity. How do you concentrate while everything else is out of order?
- My professional goal at the moment is completing my degree within the desired time. This goal will help me to increase knowledge of ethics. Integrity on the other hand will be upheld at all times since it is the best way to earn other people’s trust. Maintaining integrity for any business requires inner strength and moral courage to do the right thing regardless of the cost. It might seem costly at the moment, but rewarding in future. Adhering to rules, regulations and laws pertaining to the business will also come a long way to showcasing optimal ethical behavior. This ensures that the organization does not get in the wrong way of the authority hence avoiding unnecessary fines and other relevant penalties.
