Everyone dreams, and the dreams are valid. Each person would love to become what they ought to be. Ahmed ………. is such a person, whose passion for business and success are unrivaled. Coming from a business family with a CEO father, and schooling in international organizations, this gives me a great thrust to step into the big shoes of my dreams. The environment of my upbringing, way far from my kinship has given me the edge of independent thinking. I have completed my undergraduate studies from a UK university, participated in three Young Entrepreneur Competition events and interned at Western Auto LLC in Dubai for three stints. This has triggered my interests and passions in business management, especially automobile and the tourism industry. Driven by the vision of starting my own business in the fields of automobiles and controlling the marketing department of the same, I have the right routes.

A little experience in the fields of interest is invaluable. At the age of 22, I believe I have immense potential that can be utilized in the business world to my self-actualization. Determination, passion and desire to succeed are some of my driving forces in pursuance of this dream. The best of myself comes in communication. I value it and take it as a priority in all dealings because it is the backbone of operations. I believe I am a charismatic leader, with great problem-solving skills. This would be an incredible character in the management of a business. Relationship with different groups of people and cultures have taught me to appreciate globalization and diversity, which can only ease my work as a manager.

When dealing with people, I appreciate that am emotionally intelligent, and I can put myself in the position of the people I am dealing with. My social coping skills are incredible. It doesn’t take me long before I integrate fully in a new location. Some of this comes down from what my father has taught me, and what I have observed of him as a manager. I am the kind of person who hits the nail on the head, with no struggles of self-expression. I will let the employees understand their mistake or positive contribution right on the spot. This is invaluable for corrective measures as it is for progress.

Why me? I am charismatic, visionary, courageous, humble and focused. Those are five attributes that can describe me in one line. A leader who has the above can lead in a great way and be able to strategically plan for the success of business. It is contrary to leaders who fail to possess such attributes, as they do not even command a good following in their organizations.

Car dealers, tourism related establishments like hotels, guide companies and linking organizations are all areas of interest that I should be close to. One of the greatest influences in my life has been my father. He has been of great support and guides me whenever I need such kind of help. He has taught me the art of independence. One person that I would love to meet is Larry Page, the founder of Google. He would be a great inspiration by narrating how his startup became the biggest search engine in the world.

I have a great passion for assisting the needy. This saw me join Dubai Cares, an NGO that supplied and distributed food to the survivors of the Haiti earthquake. I have done several internships, a number of workshops and simulations that relate to management in tourism and automobile industries. This has added a rich vein of experience to the academic experiences of Aston University and Choueifat International School, as I progress with my studies at New York University.

I love talking to people in person since it appeals to me compared to other styles of communication. Immediate feedback, emotional share and assurances among other advantages come along with face to face communication. It is easier to convince a client that still bears some elements of doubt when talking to them in person. This is due to the ability to analyze various non-verbal cues.

Social platforms have revolutionized the marketing industry. As a person, and as a professional, there is no better platform to market oneself than LinkedIn. This is a great platform to meet fellow professionals and share ideas as well as connect with people who have tasted the path of victory in business management. Twitter and Facebook are more like informative and social tracking platforms that have little professionalism compared to LinkedIn. Balancing life affairs is never an easy task, and each needs its time. School work must be taken as seriously as one takes work if success is to be guaranteed. Also, personal relationships must be developed and leave a little time for the hobbies. The latter two can take up the weekend, as the former two keep me engaged across the week. Getting my master’s degree is part of my long-term plan of being an intelligent manager, as well as increasing my pool of knowledge on how to handle different situations.

I see myself as a down-to-earth person, guided by the will of success and delivering my promise to myself. My uncle once told me that I am always a busy person who has time for almost everyone whenever needed, with a heart to help and never losing the focus on my goals. There seems to be much co-relation between my self-perception and what others see of me. It is put in different words, but it is relatively the same. At this age, most of my peers are pursuing their undergraduate courses, and those who are through are yet to even think of taking their master’s degrees. I am always looking to be ahead of the pack.
