Cultural development in human beings attempts to identify the sociological aspects that bring the bond to human beings and the resultant formation of a culture. Human development in terms of culture looks into the elements of social organization and structure that are a focal point to human growth. Cultural evolution has an impact on social development through the establishment of kinships which set the baseline for aspects such as marriages, gender responsibility, and nutrition. Through marriages, for example, two parents bring forth descendants whom they feed them with various foods that have the necessary nutrients for their development. Not only do the parents offer essential nutrition, they also lay a foundation for the development of the baby’s language and behavior as they grow older. Also, extra parental care such as the presence of grandparents forms the foundation in the cultural development of a society as the grandparents offer avenues for nurturing young children. Finally, nutrition is essential for it is an element of identifying the various nutritional foods that are essential to the body(Larsen, 2017).
Skin color comes from the exposure of U.V light to the human skin. Notably, the individuals who live in areas with less solar exposure tend to have less pigmentation in their skin called melanin. Most of these characteristics are evident in areas where there is a likelihood of low temperatures such as the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere, individuals living in most parts of Africa have more melanin in their skin. The melanin is an adaptive feature that makes the black people absorb the extreme ultraviolet rays that could cause effects such as skin cancer. On the other hand, people with white skin have certain features that enable them to survive in a cold environment such as hair on the skin(Anon., n.d.). Due to natural selection, people with white skin might absorb the UV rays as they tend to move to areas where there are low levels of solar penetration(Larsen, 2017).
Race is a cultural vice constructed by people who believe that having certain adaptive features such as skin color or even having a more advanced social organization should feel superior to the other people who have different skin color and less organized societies. After understanding the unilineal evolution of some people believing that having a white skin means dominance, it is easily identifiable that there is little consideration of the adaptations of different individuals to their environment(Larsen, 2017).
