I did the interview on November 19, 2017.
I assessed myself on behavioral questions, valued job skills and confidence levels. With regards to behavioral questions, I learned that they take a huge part in most job interviews. Behavioral questions are usually used to identify whether a potential job candidate has some desired competency levels. This includes things like resourcefulness, determination and analytical thinking.
When it comes to valuable job skills, I noted that there are those job skills that are usually more valued by most organizations. The top three that I figured out were communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, and initiative. I realized this is due to the success factor that these skills help to bring to the workplace. This is helpful as it helps one to assess whether they possess these skills for future endeavors in the labor market.
One thing that I learned I can improve for my future interviews is my confidence level. I realized that one might have the best answers to the questions being asked, but the level of confidence that is demonstrated determines how these answers come out. Lack of confidence can also give the impression that one is not sure of whatever is being discussed. This has made me desire to instigate improvements in this area. Maybe taking several mock interviews along the way will help.
