Muslim is the fastest growing religion in the world today.  The religion has grown rapidly in recent years. Muslim in America differs from their counterparts in Europe.   America has few Muslims as compared to Europe. Muslims in America agree with the Americans on most of the issues of modern society. Muslims have more freedom in America and they feel more secure and relaxed.  They are accepting of other faiths and even more comfortable with their own religion. In Europe, the relationship between Europe and the Muslims is deeply rooted in colonialism. There are residual of cultural and racial prejudice in Europe that used to exist in the colonial era. This has resulted into two different communities. The Muslims in America are affluent, hopeful and well assimilated. In Europe, there exists a border of society both socially and economically. The Muslims in Europe are marginalized while the Muslims in America are accepted in to the society.

The Muslim Americans have in the past struggled with a few things. One of the things is the adherence to religious beliefs. In the past, Muslim American women were not allowed to wear hijab in the work places. Public school were also not allowed to wear any religious garb. Though Muslims in America are accepted in the society that was not the case in the past. The recognition of the Muslim religion has only happened in recent times. In addition, the Muslims in America have in the past struggled to make the sharia law be integrated in the laws of the country. The constitution of America does not allow the courts to apply any religious laws in the determination of cases such as divorce.  For example for religions that do not allow divorce, the religious beliefs and practices cannot be considered in a divorce case in court. The law of the land applies.
