I am ……………….. from Saudi Arabia currently undertaking a Bachelor’s degree in accounting at King Saud University Riyadh. My drive for undertaking this degree has been triggered by the career path that I have chosen for my life. Currently, I am an accountant at Royal Diwan in Saudi Arabia. I see the accounting degree as my stepping stone to the next level in my career. There is the optimism that it will help open more opportunities for attaining higher ranks; one’s that even involve leadership positions in the field of accounting. This is a career path that I have admired for a long time as some of my relatives are involved with the field. I have seen them lead better lives, and since I have been good with numbers, it got me interested.

There are several topics with regards to leadership that tend to interest me. Among them, there are leadership traits, leadership styles and determining whether one is suited to be a leader. With determination whether one is suited to be a leader, there are aspects that can be learned to help an individual assess themselves to see if they have what it takes to be a leader. It can be beneficial in showing areas where an individual can improve to help demonstrate favorable leadership attributes. Leadership traits on the other hand help to assess characteristics that effective leaders should uphold. It is an important topic area in leadership since it demonstrates to people the type of traits they should adopt to become better leaders. Leadership styles on the other hand help leaders to have the necessary knowledge of knowing which style to apply in given circumstance since there is no single style that is effective in all situations.
