Plot.
Exposition
The story begins when the narrator gives us a setting; we are made known to that the Luo have always been in a constant battle with the Luo for a long time. The Luo have continuously lost to the Lango’; as a result, they have been slaves to them and as a result, are a people that are not happy. They pray to their ancestors by consulting the oracle for years without giving up. For a long time, no response, but one day the oracle through the priest reveals that from that night a son shall be conceived and nine months later he shall be born, and he will be called LwandaMagere.
Rising action
True to the oracle’s prophecy the child is born nine months later. The baby is taken back to the oracle to receive his birthright and a mission. His mission is to win the war for his people and to obey the elders always.
He was also not allowed to consume alcohol and most importantly his secret would be known between two people, Lwanda and the priest.
You see LwandaMagere was born like any other child, but after receiving his birthright from the oracle, henceforth he lived with the chief priest. This was to guard his secret, His body of stone and how he operated just like a human but again not so human on the skin like us.
Conflict
LwandaMagere fights so many battles for the Luo, and he wins them all, after all, how do you kill a man whose body is made of stone. It is said after a while the presence of LwandaMagere on the field is enough to scare even the most courageous of warriors and they flee the battlefield.
Lwandamagere though does not take alcohol, but like other mortals, he has secrets like all other men. His is a lover of women. In 10 years he has been able to marry more than 25 women. This weakness is not only known to his people but also the enemy.
Climax
The Lango people have thought hard about their predicament. The council is made of men the king and his three chiefs. Their solutions have all failed. For instance, they believed that Magereonly fights during the night so they thought he would stay indoors as the Lango kill and loot from the Luo.
They could not have been any further from the truth. He came out like a lion, and the Lango were shocked, and they suffered significant losses on that day.
This made the Lango people pondered long and hard and when they had decided to sleep on the issue. The Lango queen steps in and humbly requests an audience which she is granted based on her position.
She suggests that since LwandaMagere has already proved that he cannot resist beauty, she proposes that they send her the princess, the daughter to the king. She is a beauty that is known in all corners both by the Lango and the Luo.
The plan is bold because tradition states that the princess should be married as Mikal (first wife). Those who had the financial strength to marry the princess could not because they had already acquired other wives before hence tradition and customs ruled them out.
Lwanda was no different, and the stone man was on his way to achieving high status in marriage he already broke the record and was leading, not the chiefs or the king could claim he rivalled the number of wives Magere had.
