Luke 6:32-36 is one of the most interesting verses in the New Testament.  It is a phrase that emphasizes on the importance of good relationship with people whom we interact with in our daily endeavors. According to the gospel of St. Luke, “But if you love those who love you what credit is that to you?  For even sinners love those who love them’’ (vs 32).  It implies that it is easy to love people who love you than it would be to those whom you don’t love.  Although loving back a person who loves you is not bad, the bible intends to lay emphasis that, as Christians, we should also be ready to love even those who hate and persecute us. It will therefore be essential for Christians to ensure that they do good to all people without expecting earthly rewards. They should be merciful to others as God has been merciful to us (Luke 6:36).

For instance, in a place of work, there is that person who always find it difficult to assist you complete your project when you are overloaded with work. If such a person gets in a position that requires your assistance, the passage teaches us that we should not revenge but we should always offer a helping hand without expecting rewards. In essence, the passage intends to lay emphasis that we should not always be good to those people who are good to us but rather we should be merciful like our creator (Luke 6:36).
