Issues at the Work place

Introduction

Every work place is expected to face different challenges in the course of delivering goods and services. The different issues that arise every day require adequate preparedness to ensure that there is smooth running of the daily operations within the work place. There are different issues ranging from internal conflicts, changes in delivery of goods and services as well as frequent changes in the management team within an organization. This paper will unearth different issues that arise in the work place and more specifically in the criminology sector.

Discussion

The criminology sector is a very dynamic sector where changes are experienced day in day out. This has been orchestrated by the ever changing types of crimes that require to be addressed. For instance, there has been a tremendous rise in the terror attack. The world is facing a global challenge of dealing with frequent terror attacks which are executed by the ever increasing number of terror group. There are also other minor crimes which include carjacking, bank robbery, kidnapping among other different types of crimes (Savona, 2004).

In order to ensure that the populations’ security is not at stake, the police and other agents combating crime must embrace new technology. This technology will be essential in assuring the population that their security is not compromised. One of the technologies that is likely to enhance the operations of security agency will be involved in reducing the number of stolen vehicles which is on the rise in major cities. This will achieved through installing car tracking devices in the most vulnerable vehicles. It is also important to embrace a technology that will help detect stolen vehicles through identifying their registration numbers. This crime detection device is referred to as Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR). This device is connected to police interceptors which can then be used to track stolen vehicles, uninsured vehicles, banned drivers just to mention but a few. ANPR is a high profile technology which enables the police to compare instantly the registration of the vehicle to its data in the database. The adoption of this technology has proved itself vital in many places where it has been applied and it seems to be an emerging trend in crime combating sector (Savona, 2004).

In order to curb the increasing insecurity in major cities, the departments have embraced the CCTV surveillance technology. Many federal states are engaging in continuous installation of CCTV cameras in major cities and shopping malls. This has been critical in ensuring that the crime department is able to monitor all the happenings within the city. The cameras are able to record each and everything that transpires within the city and this has been instrumental in making major arrests concerning major crimes within crime capitals. The use of CCTV cameras is not a function of the national government but has been a major development by private security companies and individuals for their own security purposes.

Another emerging technological advancement in combating crime involves the use of Cop Dots. This is a new technologic advancement in technology that will help combat property crimes. Major cities have in recent past reported several crimes that involve lost and stolen properties. As a result of this, the criminal investigation department ha s unearthed a technological advancement that will help combat crimes of that nature and that can only happen through the use of Cop Dots. These are high-tech adhesives that contain several tiny dots with a unique and irremovable number on it. These unique dots enable the owners of the properties to mark their properties and in case of any loss they can be easily traced. The technology involves entering a DNA specimen of the property holder to an online database which makes the process of relating any property to its owner an easy process. The use of this technology is cost effective and manageable and has proved vital in fight against crime (Savona, 2004).

Another technological advancement in security sector has been the constant satellite surveillance in major cities, seas and oceans. Security machinery has been very critical in adopting satellite surveillance which has been very critical in containing the ever increasing terrorism activities. Most of these terror groups attack major cities and this can be contained through continuous satellite surveillance (Savona, 2004). This surveillance has also been conducted through rockets as well as air craft’s and numerous positive results have been realized as a result. Continuous co operation between the different security agencies and the increase in the number of security officers has been a major issue in the crime combating department..

Conclusion

In conclusion, the crime department has been a very dynamic sector which in recent years has registered a tremendous advance in technology.  The rise and ever changing criminal tactics have forced the department to develop new tactics to curb the menace (Savona, 2004). The increase in surveillance and adoption of the technological advancement has been very critical in curbing the increasing menace of crime, especially cyber crime. The several federal states are also encouraged to make legislations that are security related that will be very critical in dealing with crime. This will be a brave step towards the realization of a safe world that each and every person dreams of.
