Albert Einstein is believed to have made the following statement: “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Discuss what he may have meant by this statement.
Einstein Albert understood that intelligence is a choice. In this case, he meant that if an individual has, for instance, an IQ of 100, they might claim that they are intelligent and do not choose to be more intelligent. Therefore, if this is what one believes, then they are in the stage Albert is referring to as “it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.” To mean that they have developed a false belief in their mind because many at times they were judged, measured or quantified in the course of their life incorrectly. All are genius, and any individual can become as smart as Albert. It takes the right combination of direction, focus, and passion which are not genetic predictions but external environmental factors.
Discuss Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligence.
Gardener’s theory of multiple intelligence suggests that the notion of traditional intelligence is which is based on the test of IQ is far too limited. Dr. Gardner instead, proposes eight different intelligence which accounts for a spectrum of human potential both in adults and children. The range of intelligence includes naturalistic intelligence, interpersonal, intrapersonal, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, logical-mathematical and linguistic intelligence (Gardner, Howard, 22). Dr. Gardner suggests in the theory that, schools should not focus much only on logical-mathematical and linguistic intelligence as they do, but major on the eight multiple intelligence. The multiple intelligence assumption as he puts it would produce all-around students and also to enhance the talents that are best harbored by a student.

The inventory highlights my linguistic type of intelligence as the strongest. That is I am good at verbal and words. I entirely agree with the findings because I always enjoy reading and writing. I also enjoy the complexity of sentence structure, word structure, sound and meanings of words.
