INTEGRATIVE CASE STUDY

  1. If I had 20 percent of my work time dedicated to projects of my choosing, that would create more engagement leading to changed organization culture. This is because individuals would choose the work to do based on a willingness and not force, 20 percent of the work time creates an opportunity to do innovations and researches concerning the workplace. It, therefore, establishes a connection and awareness of the surrounding.

If everyone in my position had a day a week to work in his/her projects, the organization would change in various ways; there will be an increased value and output that organization leaders appreciate and understand. The human resource would also context in a substantial competitive advantage in the market; this is because of the innovations made in the new projects.

  1. According to Eric Schmidt, “evil scale,” was a rank that was created by Google to decide on what to do with the Chinese censorship demands (Tan, 2012). This is because denying China Google services would seem worse evil; it is contrary to the Google injunction “try not to be evil.”

From the scale of good and evil, the compromise puts Google a little lower on the evil level than many other internet companies in China. This is because Google showed a positive step towards respect and honest for the Chinese user intelligence when they obeyed the Chinese government.

  1. If I were Eric Schmidt and considered the sense making processes in the Google China operations, I would propose what he did, not to violate Google fundamentals and not to underestimate the Chinese government. China is one of the largest Google markets across the globe. If Google allowed “dark search” it would be violating the rules and regulations in China; therefore, it allowed Google uncensored HongKong engine as a way of respect and honest towards Chinese intelligence users.
  2. The Google intended strategy about the Chinese market during this period was to create a right channel that gains efficacy by routing services through a central hub and pass them to China. This would make sure that Google is still relevant to the Chinese market. The emergent strategy, in this case, was the unplanned strategy that came up about the unexpected challenges (Andersen, 2009). Google was required to accept a firewall system that blocked various communications. The realized strategy was that strategy that Google Company followed; it allowed Google uncensored Hong Kong engine as a way of respect and honest towards Chinese intelligence users. Through this way, the interest of people and governmentin China are met.
