Investing in something is a decision that is shaped by a variety of issues. For instance, some of the top reasons I give for investing in something include getting a higher return on value, ensuring future financial stability, to reach some short-and long-term financial goals, and support the dreams of others.
Higher returns imply basing investment decisions on the expectations that investing in something with grow my money and yield better returns. Safeguarding future financial stability entails investing with the hopes of reaping benefits during retirement (Kaiser, 2014). Investment can also be aimed at growing the value of money to attain some short or long-term financial goals such as acquiring some valuable property. Investment can also be motivated by the need to support the dreams of other people that seem brilliant as a way of building a personal legacy.
Professional investors differ remarkably in how they prioritize their motivations for choosing a project or business in which to invest. For some, the aspect of Return on Investment (ROI) is the primary driving force (Barnet, 2014). For others, the associated risks are the most significant factors informing their decisions. Therefore, based on the pitch deck, they can identify these issues. Others consider the social impact of the projects they intend to invest in as the most critical thing (Botha, 2005). As such, while some respond to risks, others react to the growth potential of the specific venture.
