There is an old saying, “The pen is mightier than the sword.” For centuries now, books have played a vital role in changing the world and humanity. Since my childhood, I have always believed that books are the world’s most important tool for civility and modernity. Through books, people have written information and ideas that have revolutionized the word, either positively or negatively. These ideas have also changed the fate of men and nations thus giving future generations the opportunity individuals to learn some of the important historical events of the world and great innovations that have been made to make life more comfortable. More importantly, I believe in the superhero character that rises to the occasion to fight and triumph over evil deeds castigated by the villain. I have much admiration for individuals who defy the odds and the conventional expectations held by many and change the fate of the people by showing fearlessness and determination.

I developed the appetite to read historical and adventurous stories since my 3^rd grade. I used to enjoy the adventure, excitement, and the suspense that most of these books had. Since I had fewer friends back at school and also never enjoyed playing outside in the field as other children did, I spent most of my time indoors reading books that captured the determination and resilience of men to change the course of world’s history. During my 3^rd grade, I enjoyed reading the Hardy Books, specifically the storybook While the Clock Ticked, later I developed the thirst and appetite for historical and political books. Through these books, I learned of the major world leaders like Adolf Hitler, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John Sterling and their contribution in the World Wars. There is no doubt that books are a fundamental piece of learning as they provide essential knowledge that can give an individual the power to be anyone they wish to be.
