Introduction
Insecurity has been a concern in every country. According to the statistics, in each year terror attacks happens in different countries resulting in massive destruction of properties with the inclusion of unaccountable maiming (Smith, 2015). Besides, people lost lives during these incidences as everyone rushes for safety which is by then absent. The causes of these attack are different from one state to another, but the most saddening thing is that the attackers do it for revenge or when seeking for something from the interim government. For instance, it is believed that twin towers in New York were a target by the Al-Qaeda men who were seeking for revenge after the Lebanon incidence where innocent people were killed by USA militants (Clement, 2015). The response to such attacks have been recently criticized as the aid given is not as expected (Smith, 2015). In this regard, this paper focuses on evaluating comparisons and at the same time contrasting the emergency responses given during such happenings. Under this, the following will be tackled.
Comparison and contrasts of the emergency responses to the 9/11 Pentagon and World Trade Center attacks
During the Pentagon attack, the response was flawless which delayed the expected aid. It is known that airline which was to head eastward to rescue the people lost communication signal with FAA department security officials. After dropping the signal of communication, it led to the oceanic side which was a far place thereby delaying the help required. In this, the response was not provided immediately (Smith, 2015). On the other hand, the response given during the ‘World Trade Center’ attacks was immediate. To ascertain this, over three thousand respirators were delivered to the site of incidence by the NIEHS working group which was referred to as ‘Worker Training Program’ abbreviated as WTP (Smith, 2015). Also, they provided experts related to health to make the place clean and conducive for everyone attacked unlike in the case of the 9/11 Pentagon attack.
In contrast, in both cases, there were provisions of funds by various organizations aimed at clearing up the messed the compound and supporting the victims of the same and the survivors. For example, after the WTC attack, NIEHS with the support of WTP replied by backing up the researchers who were to help in collecting environmental together with the air samples for analysis (Clement, 2015). Here, the amount given was not disclosed, but they, later on, gave six million dollars to the WTC significantly for training different categories of people including those to be involved in cleaning to mention a few. On the other side, the Pentagon got over six hundred and fifty-seven million dollars financial assistance from the charities, (Clement, 2015), and others from the relief agencies.
Analyzes of the security concerns that responders confronted in the two attacks
In the two attacks, responders gave various confrontations concerning security. There were questions on the rapid spreading of fire, and the firefighters were present. In this incidence, if the flames of fire were earlier controlled and minimized the rate at which the fire was spreading from one part to another could not have been witnessed. It was due to laxity of the firefighters thus the origin of the clashes (Clement, 2015). Also, the responders criticized the security guards of the places as they showed lack of commitment to their job by being not careful enough which allowed attackers to enter into their area of the target (Smith, 2015). It was also their responsibility to call for help which was delayed more so the Pentagon incidence which claimed over three thousand people.
Importance of the inner and outer perimeters Directions of the Pentagon and WTC center of attacks and Conclusion
During the incidence, the perimeters were used in rescuing purposes. It is told that the rescuers were forced through the inner perimeter. It was through this perimeters that a high number of people were rescued and their lives saved. Besides, the perimeters were also used by the attackers in penetrating the buildings. The borders especially the outer one was used in allowing the released smoke to drift away (Clement, 2015).
In summary, these attacks caused tension into the whole world as they were no such expectations. During such incidences, security officers in duty need to be in touch with other security officers or various security departments. By doing so, the assistance will be given immediately, and such adverse consequences will be controlled. Also, those to be involved need to have better communication signals to ensure better services are offered on time thus rescuing a large portion of those in the attack. If in the Pentagon 9/11 attack there was a flow of communication, the large number of people could not have died. For future significances, the above-outlined measures need to be put into consideration.
