The shape of international relations will have drastic change in this 21^st century. The major area of concern will be the likelihood of an end to the US dominance in global economy and politics. It is prudent to note that other world powers such as Russia and china have been developing at an astronomical rate and there is likelihood of a regime change and a new global order (Jacques, 2013). The most successful emerging nations will become major world powers in conjunction with the OECD nations. Since china has the second strongest economy after the US, it is possible in the near future that its economy would be the greatest in the world. On this note, it is essential to point out that this will coincide with the economic decline of the West.  If the projected economy of china and other parts of the world becomes real, then the political influence of the west, especially the US, is bound to decline (Brown, 2013). Also, china is merging with other countries, especially BRICS and African states to form formidable force. This implies that there is likelihood that china will have strong alliances that can enable influence global economy and politics. There is also a possibility that the alliance can have a strong military power that can challenge the United States in terms of military capacity.
