MEMORANDUM
TO Peer Review Committee and Charitable fundraising group(s)
FROM. James Brandon, Congressman school of Public Relations
DATE April 9th, 2019
SUBJECT. FUNDRAISER TO COLLECT MONEY FOR CLEARING MEDICAL BILL FOR A COMRADE AND TO HELP NEEDY STUDENTS AT
COLLEGE.
It has come to our notice that one of our fellow students is being held at the hospital after failing to clear his medical bill. Jack Muthoni underwent surgery after one of his kidneys was unable to work, and it had to be removed, but he is recovering now except for the massive hospital bill at his head. He was admitted towards the end of last month at the government hospital, The Great Care Hospice and is still there. I would urge every student to find it in his heart to donate whatever he or she has towards clearing his bills.
The proceeds will go to Jack, a third-year nursing student at our college and the excess will be disbursed to needy students as most of them have not cleared fees. Only students who have applied will be considered for the bursary, and the college administration will vet all applications. Students who will try to cheat in the application process will face College disciplinary committee as it is inhumane and uncouth considering a fellow student’s life is at stake, and there are many needy students.
Our school patrons will be passing donation papers around the school, and I urge everyone to find it in his heart to generously donate what he or she has been blessed with and as John Stuart Mill believed on the principle of giving the greatest happiness to the greatest number of people,Mill support the pursuit of happiness by providing charities as it will maximize pleasure and minimize, Kant also believes that moral decisions should be based on one duty and responsibilities of others and we should act morally regardless of consequences and act is considered moral if it is done for the sake of duty
I also urge you to spread the word to fellow students and your fellow acquaintances on the issue at hand for if we’re United in times of difficulty, we shall all make it. I have passed a word to the school administration, and they have agreed to host the main fundraising event that would be held at Harambee Hall opposite the nursing school. Jack is supposed to clear from the hospital before the end of the month. Individual Peer Review Committee and Charitable fundraising groups should pass a word to sponsors and nongovernmental organization to chip in and contribute towards the fundraising.
Guest speakers have been invited to chair the fundraising event and crowning the game will be our county governor and as Mother Theresa philosophy of charity and love, we should emulate her seen by her actions, “if I ever become a saint – I will surely be one of ‘darkness’ I will continually be absent from heaven to light the light of those in darkness”.
The main fundraising event will be held on April 27th, 2019 at 2.00 P.M at Harambee Hall, all are welcomed to attend
