Houston Community college is the community center of excellence. Its 15 centers focus on top-notch industry and facility best practices aimed at providing the students with the skill they need for successful careers. The college was created in 1971, governed by Houston Independent School District. Later, in 1992, it got restructured to a multi-college system. Its operational area is Katy, Houston Independent School District, spring branch, Stafford Municipal District, and Alief Independent School District.

Under the leadership of Chancellor Maldonado, the college has success record in community service. It delivers instruction of an average of 70,000 students per semester in more than three hundred associate certificate and degree programs. We aim at providing superior technical and academic programs alongside focusing on being the leading institution in quality education. Moreover, diversity is an essential priority of at HCC. The institution is ranked first among all community-based colleges in provision of degrees to minorities. Also, it is ranked top in educating international students since approximately 10% of the students come from the outside USA. It supports success in any life phase and age (Housel & Hickey, 1993).

Web design

Web design is subject to change every time, making it hard to standardize. However, there are golden reference and design principles that aid is rating a website. They include good color scheme, clean layout, visually appealing interface, organized content, and easy to understand (Farkas & Farkas, 2001). Yale University school of art has violated the principles of outstanding web design. It makes one wonder whether it is Yale, the global figure. The website is visually unpleasant and conflicts with the status of such a great institution. The tiled images located in the background are horrible http://art.yale.edu/. They defy decency rule of a good web. Also, the choice of font is wanting and utterly inexcusable. Too much font styles are unpleasant and unwelcoming to the eye (Sklar, 2011). Despite the user-friendly navigation, the terrible use of pop and manga animated background may turn the visitor off.
