1. A client with motor neurone disease who is physically disabled but has no cognitive (intellectual) or verbal deficits. The 35 year old client has a life expectancy of no longer than 12 months and is required to undertake counselling in preparation for assisted suicide (which is legal in their jurisdiction).

2. A client who is required to attend free vocational counselling to be eligible for welfare payments. The client states they do not believe in counselling, has no desire to find employment, and does not feel the need to do anything productive with their life, they would rather play computer games.
