DIVERSITY IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE WORKPLACE FROM AN ADMINISTRATIVE OR MANAGERIAL PERSPECTIVE

The academic journal article that is using in this case study is “Mind tap Management for Diversity in Organizations” By bell. The summary of the article is as follows; this is a research-based text and comprehensive report that meets the need of the diversity course. The article provides various organizational aspects for example, why diversity is essential in the organizations, recruitments and retaining. The book also contains a review of the importance of utilizing a diverse workforce and legislation related to diversity (Bell, 2017). The article lastly examines the prescriptions to becoming a diversity-friendly employer and how dominant and non-dominant groups can work together to bring change.

There are various ways in which the book is significant to me; the article acts as a digital learning solution that powers the students from memorization to mastering of things. To the student, the report provides complete control of the course; this is through the provision of an engaging content that challenge an individual as well as building their confidence. The article also helps the student to accelerate the progress in the studies by providing complete ownership of experience and content.

This article is also relevant to the criminal justice administrators; it serves as a guide to enhance cultural diversity among the legal administrators. Due to the racist nature of law enforcement in the country, there is a dramatic and tragic incident that has drawn public attention (Seiter, 2012). The book, therefore, acts as a grassroots of opportunity for efforts to bring multi-cultural education to the criminal justice administrators such as the police. The book also offers race relation, cultural sensitivity and cultural diversity training which is a central area component for reform in the criminal justice administration.
