Who dare say that slavery is wrong? Imagine if we never had these slaves, which would mean that we would have to work on the farms ourselves. Those who so much fight slavery still eat the produce of our farms. I wonder where these Negros would go. We provide them with shelter, food and we also give them time to enjoy. America is like heaven to them. Where else would they be working if not in our farms? We need them and they need us and that completes the equation. We are just a humble people trying to help them out and in return they help us out (Henretta, Edwards, Self 362). The social structures advocate that we should help each other and that is exactly what is happening with the slaves.
Take a moment and have a look at this. I can release the slaves and make them my employees. This means they will have to provide for themselves shelter, food and clothing for them and their families. Do you think they can afford that? Even if they decide to go back home across the sea, there is nothing good awaiting them there. Keeping them here as slaves is a favor. They would otherwise be rotting dead from hunger.

Response to John Daniels
Hi John, great line of through there, I love your opening line, “We the slaves are a people, who are more than capable of adapting to any society within the world”. The slaves were viewed more as commodities as opposed to human beings. They were sold from one master to the other. They must have been very adaptive to survive in the different social settings and structures in the hands of different masters. These masters were desperate for people to work in their farms but the slaves were also desperate for a place to live and food. Just like the masters fed the animals for the benefit of fattening them to earn a higher profit in the market, the slaves worked in the farms for the benefit of being fed and having a place to live. Where else would they go? The conditions at home were even worse that in America.
Response to Rachel Gattenby
Hi Rachel, great thinking, you have portrayed the thinking of the masters clearly. Without the slaves, who would work in the farms and how would the slaves themselves survive? Life back across the sea is even worse than here in America. It is actually a favor that the slaves are here than over there. They have food and shelter for them and their families. We help them and they help us and life continues. If we released the employees, how would they provide for themselves? All the farms, houses, factories and almost everything are owned by us. They would end up Back in our hands. The makers of the constitution were right to make a constitutional right to have slaves. They understood that the slaves could not survive without us and we could not work in the farms and factories ourselves. So the needs of the slaves were balanced with our wants.
