Culture determines, and influence human conduct and behavior in an organization. Given Fabinger (2015), culture entails norms, beliefs, and shared values. An understanding of the cultural context of the workplace is necessary because culture influence how employees feel and act. The two broad categories play out in corporate culture and influence the behavior of employees. Besides, the new manager adopted a more egocentric approach to performance, based on individualism and autonomy, while most workers of Philippines origin value sociocentric coexistence, focused on collectivism (Inc., 2016; Juang Matsumoto).

Housekeepers ascribe to a culture that promotes collectivism. Culture regulates emotions, and contributes to effective intellectual processes (Juang Matsumoto);hence, the sociocentric approach adopted by the housekeepers resulted in common control, and motivation. Thus, working with others created a relationship between the housekeepers within the social setting of the workplace (Moore, 2011).
