According to the US history of leadership, leaders have always been bold and risk takers. Leaders are much different from managers. Emotional Intelligence: These are interpersonal and intrapersonal skills that are necessary for one to be a well-adjusted leader.
Authentic leadership: This is the category of leaders who follow their internal compass of true purpose.
Diversity leadership: Comprises of culturally competent leaders.
Servant Leadership: Comprises of leaders with the desire of serving others.
Spiritual Leadership: Comprises of leaders who are always in support of finding meaning
Resilient Leadership: Comprises leaders who usually build inner strength as well as perseverance.
Emerging leadership: Comprises of leaders who are continual developers and leaners.
The contemporary models of leadership can provide us with people leadership philosophy hence making them different from past models. Additionally, contemporary models do not focus on one model as but different models and teary to combine them.
There are behavioral and technical leadership competencies. On the other hand, there are several leadership domains including technical and functional, self-understanding and self-development, interpersonal, and organizational domains. One can become a leader and do not have many of the leadership domains and competencies. However, it is believed that the more leadership domains and competencies you have, the more successful leader you are likely to be.
Ethical responsibilities usually applied to different constyituencies of health care hence the reason why health care leaders usually have a higher need for ethical behavior than other leaders from other sectors. They have ethical responsibilities to their profession itself, to the organization, to the patients all those they serve, to the co-employees and lastly to the society at large.
Yes, I firmly believe that health care leaders have a great responsibility always to be culturally competent since competency will always make them be able to precisely attract, mentor and even coach all those cultures and well as those who come from distinct backgrounds.
