My Career Plan

I was once told that on average, people could change their carriers about seven times in life. This is the reason why I decided to change from Pre-Nursing (DTA) to a Social Service Mental Health (AA-DTA) with a certificate. I have three different, but similar jobs that I could switch to later on if I become burned out or unhappy about any job. I already have ten years of experience working with individuals with mental illness, but I would like to branch out and help disadvantaged children, women and vulnerable adults. A degree would be another tool in my toolbox that I can utilize to help a variety of people.  I felt it would be a great injustice to not continue in the mental health field with the amount of hands-on training I have acquired. Late in the year 2018, I met with Monica Nucciarone to make a plan and understand my career options. While talking with her, I discovered that doing the transfer degree would open up more avenues to go down. I picked three different jobs that I thought I would both be good at and would enjoy. I picked Social Service Mental Health (AA-DTA) with a certificate.

In most states, Social Workers only need a bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology or another related field. In Washington, you don’t need to have a manual degree, which is an associate degree in your hand to practice. You would need to be in school while you are working under the Chemical Professional Trainee status. Domestic Violence Advocate can have a manual degree which is associate in psychology, but it is recommended to get certified because it can lead to more jobs with higher wages

At Pierce College, the total credits to complete the Social Service Mental Health (AA-DTA) Course Map with Certificate is 103. I have only 30 credits so far. I have about 14 classes left. This has been a little over a year. I am pretty confident that I will succeed in which every career I chose the first obstacle is to get my associates at Pierce College then transfer to a four year to finish my bachelor’s degree (“Social Service Mental Health (AA-DTA), n.p). Everyone has a dream in life and ambitions. For me, I want to work in a place where I do not get bored but still maintaining my niche. This is why I want to branch out and help disadvantaged children, women and vulnerable adults. This degree program is one of the tools that will be crucial and an important step towards achieving this goal. For those who are working in human services, the main passion is to improve the lives of the people who need the skills put to use. Different forms of issues and ideas exist within the human services field. However, despite the requirements, passion is key to everything. Starting with a two-year associate degree is possible. For those who are looking forward to joining the field quickly, it has always been a job with requirements different from any other. An associate of arts degree (AA-DTA) is mainly designed to help individuals that are planning to transfer and join the 4-year institution after they have completed their two-year institution studies within the  Pierce college. It is a degree that will enable me to fulfill the general education requirements that have been fulfilled by other four-year degree program students. Having a degree also has been one of my targets in life despite having worked for such a long time (dual diagnosis, n.p). I was recommended to this program by those who have experienced them as it helps a student who has not decided on the field that they are likely to enter. This was also because I was not aware of the four years institution that I was willing to attend. Pierce College’s AA-DTA compilation degree has always been recommended because it meets the requirements of the transfer guidelines for all the colleges within Washington and universities. The guidelines provide degree transfer for Inter-College Relations.

Transfer requirements usually vary from one institution to the other. It is this reason why many students are usually advised to work closely with planning advisors so that they can know what the programs entail. The students have the responsibility to ensure that they are accepted in the colleges. This is why I have to follow the program carefully and be familiar with the requirements. For the students that have not decided, the institution usually recommends that they know what they want in life. I know what I have to do to make the change that I want.

In life, people do not work for a single company for their whole career. In most cases, people who retire at the age of 50 years y have insurance as well as other earnings that can help them for a long time. The other reason why it is difficult to stay in one company or an institution for long is that the employees are less loyal; they are likely to move from one place to another. Different circumstances force people to leave the places where they are employed (WOIS, no.p). When people become bored, they are likely to be unhappy about the situations that they are in and they are likely to change employment. I am likely to be bored at some points of my career as a nurse making me change my career as soon as possible. When I become unhappy, it does not matter whether I get too much money or not. This is why a career change can sometimes be helpful. As in other cases, people may change careers to get better passes and to get better payment. I may be in this situation one day when my employers do not want to provide enough instruments that may match the lifestyle, but I want to live. It is therefore helpful for me to have a variety of options that will enable me to change from one employment to another. Having a variety of options is a good idea as it means that there are many opportunities that I can change from. Layoffs are also a common part of employment. Companies, as well as many government organizations, regularly perform layoffs to relieve some employees of their duties. When employees are relieved of their duties, it may be difficult to get back to their situation that one was seen before (Doyle, n.p).

It is also common for the employees to find it expensive to commit to one demand for some time. This makes it a trend for people to move on from one place to another. Even though jumping on a new job is difficult to adjust to, sometimes it guarantees a significant increase in payment. It is better to change the environment after realizing that there are better opportunities outside. In other cases, it is the employees who do not want to commit to a long-term future, especially if they do not have a stable income. Job security is one of the reasons why people move from one job to another. It is this reason why people move to search for better fulfillment and greater compensation and also to prolong their careers. There are some careers that people do not have to be at the right agee as they look towards better improvements through time.

A dependency consultant does not have to be at a certain age for them to perform at their best.  They are likely to take time before changing or retiring from the consultancy job. It is also difficult to change a profession without having the right certificate or a degree in Washington or any other place within the US for that matter.

Having the right qualification is a guarantee that one will transfer from one degree to the other the way they want. External Transfer and internal transfers can sometimes mean the same thing for different people. Not moving from one company to the other may not be enough even if it is in the same job. This is why there are people who may need a complete change.

The definition of change for employees also vary from one person to another. For some people, the changes have to be original for them to be recognized. Local promotions are there the reason why people quit one employment and go to the other. Because of the apparent changes that I am likely to make in life, it is necessary that I prepare myself and it was a future. Many workers do not perform t their best if they operate within the same niche after fifteen years in the areas. This is the main reason why they cannot devote more energy, and they cannot perform in their areas of duty. As someone who is dedicated to perfection and professionalism, it would not be satisfactory not to give my all in a job. It is important that I enjoy what I am doing so that I can give my all to the people I am serving (Heilstedt et al., 3).

The degree outcomes include a minimum of 90 for the credit earned or 100 needed to complete the AA-DTA degree. The degree must also include at least 60% of the credit. The general requirement is 63 for credit while the college success should be three credits. In communication, one must have ten credits especially 5 in English composition and 54 general electives. When it comes to the requirements of quantitative reasoning skills and symbolic skills, there is a minimum requirement of 5 credits especially those with mathematics and other electives. When it comes to humanities, the requirement is 15 credits that are selected from other electives. A student must score 10 in the electives.

As a human service assistant, I will be performing various duties for the clients. Some of the common issues that I will be performing include helping to find housing for homeless people. Helping different families secure the health of their children will be one of the priorities. Labour statistics projects will help in serving the older or elderly population as well as those individuals who are struggling with mental health. Apart from this, there would be people who are struggling with addiction that have to be helped in their job as well. Despite the continuously rising demand for assistance in human services, the prospect of this job has always been left for postsecondary degrees and college graduates. Even though there are variations for education requirements, people still prefer to hire those with education beyond high school and colleges. People with this degree have continuously found it easy to get into this job with many openings in associate degrees in human service. There will be numerous competitions that I will be facing if I get the job of social service mental health. Before I get this job, I will have competition from individuals with the same qualification and thus holding an associate degree in human services. Because the programs are also offered online, there is flexibility for students working as professionals. This is an idea that many people have taken to earn degrees in their humanity services.

The cost of having an associated is what makes people lower their expectations, especially when anticipating a job change in the future. Several factors in determining the cost that people pay for their degrees. States residency is one of the very few considerations but the most significant when considering because that one has to pay. Choosing an accredited program for service degree is also an important consideration because the universities have aggregations from different agencies within the united states education department.

The united state’s labor of statistics advocates for faster job growth for social workers. There has been a 31% increase in employment that is likely to be knotted in the year 2020. As a possible affordable healthcare act that mandated all insurance providers to give treatments to all the mentally suffering individuals. The Americans are now required to carry insurance for the services and find out how to help people with addictions and those with mental problems. The other factor that may be crucial in the future is the shift in the justice department and how they handle of a nurse. Many offenders are now receiving treatment instead of being taken to jail for drug abuse and mental problems. This means that more than 30000 new health care social workers and counselors will be added to the already existing employment opportunities. In a country where getting employment is difficult, it is important to have a career path that will give someone an advantage at numerous opportunities.

Activities in this area include assessing and treating mental-emotional problems. Substance abuse is one of the problems that affected many people in the world today, especially is that are within the United States. The frequency of job change also depends on the character of someone. It also depends on the network that someone has found during the time that they are searching for the job. Being updated with the current trends also mean that one interrupts more with many people in the industry and looking at the potential employers who may be able to promote them so that they can achieve what they’re looking for in life.

Gender Factors are also important when determining whether someone will move from one employment area to the other. The age will be an important factor for me when deciding to move from one agreement to the other. It is said that a worker’s age has a massive impact on the jobs that they get and how long they stay in that employment. When people are between the ages of 18 to 24 years old, they are likely to take five years to 6 years in employment. Some of the most common activities that I will be involved in include treating individuals with mental problems as well as those who have been having problems with drug abuse. Drug abuse problems that I will have to deal with include this what addicted to tobacco and other drugs. This may involve group therapy or interventions of crisis and case management. The other causes such as Client advocacy, crisis intervention, and education will be important parts of these interventions that I have been working on. These are some of the things that I have always dreamt about in life. As people grow old, the number of jobs that are available to them also decline. Workers between the age of 25 to 34 have another angel five jobs available to them. However, for the workers between the age of 35 to 45, the number of jobs available is approximately three. Most of the workers get established when they are between the ages of 45 to 50 years. At this time, there are only 1.7 jobs.

Races also come into the issue as whites hold more jobs than blacks when they are between the ages of 18 to 24 years old. Hence, black get more jobs than Latinos and Hispanics. There is a minor difference between whites blacks and Latinos when they are between the ages of 25 to 34 years. This means that someone has to secure his or her future before they get to an age where the jobs are limited. There are several reasons why people have to change jobs. Some of the loot having better pay and having better benefits even through different races and genders.

Someone who is working in this career is likely to perform the following activities. One of them is the assessment of individuals with mental problems as well as those who were suffering from emotional problems. After assessing them, it will be important to administer treatment especially those who are having problems with substance abuse such as alcohol tobacco and other drugs. The work of an Addictions Counselor is to help the addicts to overcome addictive behaviors and also to give them some of their transcending lessons with their families and loved ones who are affected in these activities.

When people suffer under drugs, their family members are also affected. Therefore, while offering counseling sessions, it is important to incorporate their family members as well as those they are loved ones. The addiction is also affecting their family members at the same time. It is this reason why people have to incorporate canceling for family members also. This is what I will be performing as a counselor for addiction.

The other certification that I will get is the chemical dependency counselor. The main activities that I will get involved in this certification include the creation of rehabilitation programs that are effective and those that individually stick. These Programs we’ll help in rehabilitating the drug addicts as well as those who are having harmful addictions.

The other jobs that I will also be involved in include crisis intervention counselor that provides aid for people who are going through various traumas. Probation officers provide supervision for the convicts who have been released as they get their rehabilitation process to go as recommended by the other social workers. However, my main focus will be dealing with psychiatric social issues that deal with duties such as canceling and helping families who have to understand and deal with different patients. Through supervising and directing other workers, I will have a major role to play in designing some of the social policies and conducting social research to advance in knowledge. All in all, i will still be serving the community and society as a whole.

There are several connections between mental illnesses and substance abuse. The report shows that 30% of mental illnesses are caused by alcohol abuse while 44% are caused by cocaine. Mental disorder patients are also those that have been found to continuously use these drugs despite recommendations by their doctors to quit using them. People who have been diagnosed by mental illnesses are also responsible for consuming other drugs, and they are the people who need help. It is this reason that those who are offering mental counseling are also responsible for designing programs that can help people quit using drugs and other alcohol users. This means that there are a massive connection abuse and mental disorders that develop after a combination of unique courses and inability to apply appropriate interventions. Self-medication is one of the issues that connects mental illnesses and substance abuse to patients. Depressed patients are those who use marijuana to avoid the depressive problems that they are going through in everyday life. This means that helping a depressed patient and making them quit using marijuana will be key roles to me. When t comes to the patients were suffering from social anxiety, they are likely to drink so that they can be more comfortable and be able to maneuver through the problems that they are going through. In addition to this, some patients struggle with panic attacks which usually take benzodiazepines such as Xanax or valium so that they can come down the symptoms or the attacks that they feel before they take place. The patients who have no energy and motivation usually resort to taking cocaine. Self-medication will be one of my major focuses after attending their degree that I want to achieve. It is unfortunate that drugs and alcohol have very little impact in addressing the underlying mental illnesses and symptoms thereby making it difficult for the patients to create the solutions for themselves. Several disorders come with them in most cases; the symptoms of one disorder usually trigger the other disorder. Certain drugs can create or trigger mental health symptoms. Symptoms such as paranoia depression and dissolution are seen when people are under the influence of drugs. Chronic drugs and drug abuse are always victims of people who get involved in rape, and eventual drama that leads to serious mental issue suggests post-traumatic stress this social service mental health has been created by risk faculty to provide a clear path to the degree that has specific courses related to the programs in my future career. These courses are also recommended under complete guidance of an associate arts degree and a massive college success.

In conclusion, it is evident that people change careers throughout their lives several times. The main reason why I decided to change from pre-nursing to social service mental health with a certificate is to have different options in the future. Currently, despite having three different jobs, it is important that I have qualifications for similar jobs that letter on I can change from when I get old or when I feel bored in one job. It is always difficult to remain in one job for eternity. This is because of the many issues that arise when people take much time in their jobs. In most cases, m individuals usually get bored in the jobs that they are in making them want to switch and change from one job to another. It is also easy for one to change from one job to another especially if they want better payment or better treatment from their employers. People also move from one job to another if they want to change location. In my case, I have various options that I can change to when I get old or when I feel that I am unhappy from being part of a company for a long time. At the same time, I will still be helping the people that I have been helping for a long time. People no longer work for one company and retiring in them after 50 years so that they can start having pensions. This means that becoming loyal to a company is difficult and thereby committing impossible. There are those who leave companies when they are looking for promotions. From a Professional perspective, Social Service Mental Health (AA-DTA) will give me a variety of courses and will help me fulfill my degree requirements. I will also have a network that will be helpful in the future especially in a world where networking is key to success and changing employment.
