Hello Austin, I got a chance to go through your informative speech presentation. To be honest, I liked your presentation; however, there are things that you need to improve. First, you came up with a good topic that is capital punishment. On the side of the slides you did a good job. There was a rhythm between what you were talking about and the content in the slides. You started your speech well by giving us a short history of the first execution to have ever been performed in the state of West Virginia. This was a motive to bring the audience close to what you are talking about. However, you did not introduce yourself and the topic you are discussing. In a speech, it’s good to introduce yourself and tell the viewers what to expect. You engaged the audience well by maintaining good eye contact.

The body of the speech is good as you seem to engage the audience with facts. Like I mentioned earlier, you gave us a brief history of the first execution. You got it right by taking the viewers on the history of execution in Colonial America. You provided facts, and this means that you had researched well for your topic. In your body, you mentioned some of the crimes that were considered capital and the consequences involved. I liked the fact that your methods some of the techniques that were used to execute people suspected to have committed capital crimes. Your conclusion was also reasonable. In the end, you did a recap of all the points simply and effectively.

However, there are some things that you need to improve so that your next speech would be more presentable. Your body language was not up to date. I could only see your face. Although your facial expression was functional, I expected to see gestures as carried on with the speech. Next time also starts your address with a good introduction. Mention your name, the topic you are talking about and why you chose that topic. Otherwise, the speech is good, and if you improve on that, you will do great in future work.
