Anthropology has several schools of thought that advocate for different theories although they all explain the common goal. Evolutionism explains the origin of civilization and how they came into being. It shows that people and objects originated from somewhere. Primitivism represents the indigenous cultures of the sub-Saharan part which have not advanced in matters of development and civilization. It advocates that this part needs much enlighten. Relativism argues that there are some behavior differences notable within cultures that need to be appreciated. Postmodernism view claims that the contemporary world has taken over the need for enlightenment that did not exist through the ages. It argues that technology and innovations have been responsible for much developments in civilizations. Functionalism, on the other hand, explains the origin of things, theories, and events based on their function and purpose in a specific situation. It states that arguments have functions.
Societies in Mesoamerica developed due to some reasons. To begin with, the agricultural development in the area made the people to be acquainted with the value of hard work and need for growth. This caused them to be engaged in domestic activities as well as commercial activities which boosted the economy. Again, there was an emphasis on the development of specialized skills that made people participate in technical activities. This as the beginning of industrialization since the creative idea was concerted to practical solutions. People in these regions valued the social ties that existed between them. The stratification of villages also made the communities be independent and be ready for development independently.

The evangelical Protestantism has been very crucial in shaping the faith system of the Mesoamerican people in the few decades. This has been attributed to the belief of a supernatural being who can control nature. The result of this has been the development of faith because the person can do things that are beyond human understanding. Despite the many controversial arguments that have existed concerning nature, it has been proved that the only reason for the existence of the being is so supreme to be understood in human terms. Many people in the region have ended up a building and developing the belief because of it’s unquestionable.

Colonialism is responsible for the self-rule and independence that countries experience today. It makes them have policies of their own without any external influence.
