James is the head of the human resource in our sugar company. He is among the most hardworking leaders in the company. Despite his uncontested character, of late, many workers have been giving up on their jobs. They feel they do not get treated as well as workers. Their pay is not commensurate with the amount of work they do. The most shocking part is that the remaining few workers have to work for extra-long hours without any compensation. Following such cases, James is unable to fulfill the company ’s daily target and objective. Despite the overwhelming challenges, James is trying to rectify the situation.

Through Bandura’s Social –Cognitive Theory, James has been able to convince other workers to apply for vacancies in their organization. The theory suggests that individuals only get the psyche to perform better and instill actions when they observe others perform (Lavergne et al. ,2016,p.854 ). The new employees have elicited diligence in their work and acted as role models to other discouraged workers. James, without any doubt,  has a high Emotional Intelligence. Despite the difficulties he has endured, he has worked hard to look for workers who have complimented the remaining workforce. It is clear that hard work and endurance enhance Emotional Intelligence.

Following the Operant Conditioning Theory by Skinner, consequences control an individual’s behavior(Lavergne et al. ,2016,p.856). James has managed to improve the company’s workforce; he has managed to source for sponsors. This action has seen an improvement in the company’s profile, profits, performance, and output. An adverse action like overdependence on the company’s finances would have led to a reduced revenue hence closure of the company. A leader ought to exhibit self-management behavior. Most importantly, he or she has to stay accountable and transparent to ensure that they improve their workforce’s performance (Sousa,2017, p. 27).  James is a perfect example of a leader that I admire since I started working in this company.
