Nevertheless, it is prudent to understand that the level of happiness varies from one type of concert to another. For instance, many music concerts changes the levels of happiness as compared to film and drama concerts. It is also worth noting that there are also differences among the different genres of music concerts. In this chapter, I will discuss a jazz concert that I once attended. This was a unique event where the performance will linger in my mind for the rest of my life. Jazz is a form of music with its origin in United States and involves a combination of funk and R & B rhythms. It is known for its great creativity and application of instrumental techniques. In this chapter, I will discuss a jazz concert I attended few years ago. During this event, it is evident that there was great coordination of the vocalists, pianist, drummer and the guitarist.
Discussion
It was a few years ago when my friends and I decided to attend a jazz concert in the outskirts of the city during a festive season. It was a rare occasion since I had never attended such an event earlier, and I decided to grab this golden opportunity. On arrival, the stage was all set, and the hall was full to the capacity. We chose a strategic position where we could see the stage very well. From my sitting position, I could see giant speakers placed in strategic positions within the hall an evidence of the preparedness to the cultural event. All people, who were casually dressed, looked relaxed and comfortable.
Sooner than later, musicians were on stage, and the crowd screamed and roared as they appreciated the players as they went on stage. Sounds of guitars, piano, drums and other instruments were heard miles away. Nevertheless, I was astonished to see that the performers were in smart suits as opposed to the spectators who were all wearing casual clothes. The sound from the giant speakers was astronomical, and the crowd went wild as they danced the tunes. I admired the organization of the entire instrument and the vocalist that made the experience a great one. Whenever the bass drum was struck, I could feel the effects in the organs within my chest. The floor shake and trembling was high such that one would think there were thunders. The lighting made the event more entertaining as the different colored bulbs changed colors in an interval. All this time, all my body felt simulated and my joy was evident from every part of my body.
It was evident that every person enjoyed the proceedings of the day. It presented a spectacular sight and atmosphere sucked us into the aura of jazz music. The enthusiasm and energy from the artist of the day made the event a great experience. The crowd sang along with the artists even as they danced the beats of drum and the guitar. The humbleness of the artist was evident as he seemed to cherish the noise from the audience. People from the back benches strived to reach the front where they created a commotion with an intention of catching a glimpse of the artist. At one time, I even fell on the ground as pushing went to higher levels.
I had attended concerts before, but I think this is rated as my best concert that I ever attended. Despite having little knowledge of the jazz music, I got an experience that improved my passion for the jazz music. I also understood that jazz music is better learned through live performance rather than just listening to the music. After the concert, I could feel my ears ring and the head clouded as a result of the loud music. Every person looked excited, and we all walked out with the adrenaline moving within our bodies evident of the exciting moments. We had a chance of taking photos with the artist of the day. I had an opportunity to buy souvenirs and a wrist bangle with the name of the band inscribed on it. The bracelet will serve a great role in reminding me the significant events of this day.
This jazz concert was unbelievable and a moment that I will never forget. It is on this premise that I promised myself to attend future concerts, especially for jazz experience. My passion for jazz music has increased since that time, and I am looking for an opportunity for that to appear to recoup such an experience. My understanding for the instrument and the origin of the jazz genre has been instrumental for my passion for jazz music. Besides to the exciting moments, I also got an opportunity to interact with people with different culture. It is, therefore, important to note that concerts offer entertainment as well as a learning experience.
