The human urinary system has several organs that perform different functions in the human body. Some of these parts comprise of the kidneys, urethra, bladder and the ureters. A human being has two kidneys which are found in the renal system. Their shape also resembles those of beans(Watson, 2004). The urethra joins the urinary bladder to the meatus for the removal of waste products from the body. Also, there is the ureter which is a tube that transports urine from the kidney to urinary bladder. Additionally, the bladder is around bag organ that stores urine before it is released from the body.
The function of the urinary system is to eliminate waste products from the body. The wastes are then removed from our bodies in the form of urine. It also regulates blood pressure and volume in the human body. Moreover, this system helps to control the normal body PH in the body. A human consumes nutrients from food and translates them to energy. The urinary system works with the skin, intestines and lungs to keep water balance and the chemicals. In this case, it removes waste products such as urea from the blood (Watson, 2004). Urea is manufactured when food that contains proteins such as eggs and meat and vegetables are broken down in the body. The renal arteries then transport it into the arteries to the kidneys. It also controls the production of the red blood cells by discharging the hormone erythropoietin. Besides, the urinary system plays a crucial role by regulating the concentration of several electrolytes in the body fluids. Finally, it is evident that the system is essential as it helps in the normal functioning of the body.
